The first step in making this card is selecting your cardstock. I used Soft Sky and River Rock as my colors. They are a couple of Stampin' Up's! In Colors for 2007-2008.
The card stock was cut:
Front-4.25" x 5.5"
Back - 4.25" x 5.5"
Back flap-4.75" x 3.5"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next step I did was to score all 3 pieces of cardstock. The front and the back are scored the same. From each of the long edges score 5" and 4.5". You will have 4 scores on both the front and back cardstocks. The smaller piece, which will be the back flap, should be scored at 4.25".
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next thing is to cut the circle out of the front of the card. I used the Coluzzle to cut my circle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next thing to do is to stamp your design on the front of your card. If you have an intricate design you might want to do this before you score your cardstock. I used the Baroque Motifs set and stamped the flourish in Soft Sky on the Soft Sky cardstock.

I added my sentiment too. I stayed with the Cherish from the Baroque Motifs set and stamped it in Basic Brown.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next is to decorate the background of your card. This will be the inside of your shadow box. I stamped the En Francias Background stamp with the River Rock ink. It does not matter if you stamp outside of your scores unless you want the image to show....it will be covered with the front of the card.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So our next step will be assembling what we have so far accomplished. For this step you will need the front, back, sticky strip, ribbon and Rectangle punch
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have done this next section 2 different ways. One way would be to fold your scores as above now. Then you would add your sticky strip as shown too. You can then pull the protective plastic from the sticky strip and attach the front of the card with the back of the card, making sure to line up either the top or bottom edge.
The other way I have done this is to attach the front and back while they are still flat and then fold the scores. It all depends on how steady your hand is. If you have problems keeping things straight then this would be the way to go for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have then used the Rectangle punch to make slots to put the ribbon through.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I, personally, found it the easiest to just single tie the ribbon. When I tied it in a knot it was too bulky. If you plan on mailing these cards and do not want to pay the extra hand cancelling fees you might want to leave the ribbon off. Other great easy edge accents would be to pierce or add faux or real stitching.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I used the Scalloped Circle Punch to punch out the back of my flower with Chocolate Chip cardstock.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I stamped the Baroque Motifs flower with Soft Sky ink on Whisper White Cardstock. I used the paper scissors to cut around it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next I am going to get ready to assemble my flower and attach it to my card. I used the Pretties Kit, White Gel Pen, Mini Glue Dots and Pop-Up Glue Dots.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I attached the flower front to the flower back with the Tombow Multi-glue. The Half pearl for the Pretties kit was attached with the mini glue dots. I added the dots around the edge with gel pen.

I placed the Pop-Up Glue dot on the back of the finished flower, found the center of the circle on the front of the card and put it in it's place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what we should be up to at this point...but wait, we are not finished yet!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought the front needed just a little bit more. I used the Boho Flower punch and the small flower from the Baroque Motifs set. I stamped two flowers, one in each colors-Soft Sky and River Rock.

I punched out both of the flowers and sponged around the edges with Soft Sky.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I added the flowers to the front of the card with the 2 way glue pen. I like to use that on smaller items. I tend to vary on adhesives but on this card I use a few different kinds. If is up to you which adhesives you are comfortable using. We are on the finishing stretch!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love the shadow box cards but always struggled with just putting my sentiment and signatures on the back. I have started adding a flap to the back for that purpose. For this one I used a piece of textured River Rock cardstock. I folded the already scored flap so that the textured part is on the outside of the card.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I attached the flap to the back of the shadow box card with Snail adhesive (yes, another kind of adhesive...)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I put my sentiment from the Hugs and Wishes set. I stamped "Happy Anniversary" with Chocolate Chip. I also added a row of the small flowers from the Baroque Motifs in River Rock along the bottom edge of the card.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That would complete this tutorial on how to make a Shadow box card. If you have any questions of if something is unclear please feel free to send me an e-mail!
